For the first time, since Benazir Bhutto’s assignation in Liaqauat Bagh on December 27, 2007, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will hold a public rally at same place today as Nation observes the 12th death anniversary of former prime minister. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated during a public gathering at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on December 27, 2007. Pakistan People’s Party has finalized arrangements for the main function.
Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party has finalized arrangements to mark Benazir’s death anniversary in a befitting manner at the Liaquat Bagh. The PPP workers from across the country are reaching Rawalpindi to attend the public meeting.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and other party leaders will address the gathering. Tight security arrangements have been made for the occasion. Sources said that more than 3,000 security personnel would be deployed inside and around the venue. Meanwhile, Murree Road will remain closed from Committee Chowk to Marir Chowk for all kind of traffic.
Earlier, After the Rawalpindi administration and police have denied Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) permission to hold a rally at Liaquat Bagh, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday (Dec 26) gave Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) permission to hold a rally on December 27 to mark the 11th death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
