Dr. Arif Alvi, The President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan signed the Electoral Reforms Bill 2021, days after the joint session of the Parliament gave it a go-ahead with a majority vote.
As per details, Following the President Dr. Arif Alvi’s nod, the Electoral Reforms Bill 2021 has now turned into law.
The President Arif Alvi while addressing the signing ceremony, congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan for his untiring efforts aimed at introducing electoral reforms in the country.
He said that all previous elections are marred by the rigging allegations,” added that holding elections through electronic voting machines (EVMs) would ensure free and fair elections and eliminate rigging allegations.
It must be noted that earlier the President Arif Alvi signed 31 bills passed by the joint sitting of Parliament on November 17, including the Protection of Journalists and Media Professionals Bill.
