Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings by five wickets in the 18th match of the Pakistan Super League 2019 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (Feb 27).
Batting first Karachi Kings set a decent target of 169 runs in 20 overs, while Islamabad achieved the task in 19.2 overs. Islamabad began cranking through the gears, as man of the match Aasif Ali – 70 off 38 balls – was more than enough to see off Karachi in a below-par chase of 169.
Rumman Raees was the pick of the bowlers for Islamabad as he finished with the figures of 3-27 in his four overs. In their chase of 169-run target set, Islamabad were 47-3 at one stage thanks to early wickets by Umer Khan. However, Phil Salt and Asif Ali put on a 97-run partnership to take the game away from the Kings. Azam and Livingstone put together 78 runs for the second wicket partnership.
