In the 12th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6 at National Stadium Karachi, Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets.
Paul Stirling from Islamabad United hit a sharp fifty to carry on the momentum set by Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf in the first innings that had tightens Quetta Gladiators from big scoring.
The Islamabad United chased an easy 157-run target on a pitch that has seen nearly 200 being chased.
Paul Stirling hit 56, Alex Hales 23, the young Rohail Nazir 34, and Shadab Khan hit 21.
The Quetta Gladiators’ openers collapsed in the power play, but the captain Sarfaraz Ahmed (54) and Mohammad Nawaz (31) led the way from then onwards which was not enough.
Islamabad United’s bowlers bowled very well, with Faheem Ashraf bagged 3 wickets and conceding only 11 runs, while Hasan Ali picked 2 and Shadab Khan bagged 1 wicket.
Faheem Ashraf bagged the man of the match award for his brilliant bowling.
It must be noted that Quetta Gladiators haven’t yet win any match in ongoing PSL season, losing all 4 matches, as they were first outplayed by the Karachi Kings before being knocked out by Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi and now by Islamabad United.
