The qualifier match of Pakistan Supper League (PSL) season sixth was played between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United on which Sultans secured a victory over United by 31 runs and reached the finals.
The Multan Sultans had won the toss and posted 181-run target for Islamabad United at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
Khushdil Shah (42) hit some impressive shots, 5 sixes in the last overs and Maqsood hit a half-century in the 13th over of the match, with 6 fours and 3 sixes to put up a competitive score for the Islamabad United.
For Sultan, The veteran Sohail Tanvir got an early break through as he bowled Colin Munro in the 2nd bowl of the first over for a duck, putting pressure on the Islamabad United.
Imran Khan Snr, In the 3rd over, direct hit at non-striker’s end to dismiss Muhammad Akhlaq (10), as he struggled to get across the pitch.
Blessings Muzarabani, in the 9th over, sent Iftikhar Ahmed (16) back to the pavilion after chipping the ball to Multan Sultans’ wicketkeeper and captain Mohammad Rizwan — breaking an important 40-run partnership between Ahmed and Usman Khawaja.
Sohail Tanvir bagged the man of the match award.
