Lahore: Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets in the third match of the Pakistan Super League. The Lahore Qalandars gave a target of 139 runs to the Multan Sultans which they completed in 16.1 overs for five wickets,Multan league spinner Imran Tahir was named the player of the match.
Multan Sultans won the toss against Lahore Qalandars and decided to field first, Lahore Qalandar openers Fakhar Zaman and Chris Lynn, gave the team a good start and added 59 runs in the first wicket partnership, while Chris Lynn scored 39 runs. There was no major contribution after Chris Lynn was dismissed and the other players continued to return to the pavilion.
Lahore Qalandars scored 138 for 8 in the 20 over’s , with Chris Lynn 39 and Sohail Akhtar 34 not out. Moeen Ali, Imran Tahir and Mohammad Elias took 2 wickets each.
Multan’s innings started with captain Shan Masood and James Vince. However, James Vince scored 18 runs and became the victim of Shaheen Shah Afridi. After that Moin Ali 11, Shaun Masood 38 and Zeeshan Ashraf were all out for 4 runs. Russow returned to the Pavilion for 32.
Shahid Afridi scored 21 off 12 balls and Khushdal Shah 6 not out and Multan Sultans easily achieved the target of 139 runs in 16.1 overs, Shaheen Afridi, Harris Rauf and David Weiss took one wicket each from Lahore.
Quetta defeated Islamabad United and Karachi Kings defeated Zalmi in two matches played earlier before this match in PSL 2020.
