Target killing of political leaders in Karachi is on rise from few weeks and its very alarming situation, as in a fresh act of target killing local leader of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Abdul Habib, on Monday night was shot dead near Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi, Karachi, police said.
Police said that unknown armed men opened fire on a vehicle and killed him adding that five to six bullet marks were found on the late PSP leader’s car, they mentioned, adding that the gunshots were from two 9mm pistols. Habib, was a member of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the party candidate from Sindh Assembly’s PS-122 constituency, a PSP spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, the inspector-general (IG) of police for Sindh, took thenotice of the incident. Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal, , and other party members including Asif Hussain, reached the hospital where Habib was brought and offered their condolences to the bereaved family. Speaking to the media, Kamal demanded the immediate arrest of the suspects and facilitators involved in the shooting of Habib.
