Newly-appointed Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday (April 21) while talking to a private news channel, dismissed the rumors that former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar will replace Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar in future.
While denying the possibility of replacement she said “Why will Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf consider a leader whose own party does not want him back?”. On the question of future of media being in turmoil, Awan said that the impression of PTI creating hurdles for media is an incorrect one.
Nisar, who was elected MPA in the July 2018 general elections, has not yet taken oath of his office. According to sources, he could be a strong contender for the post of Punjab chief minister if Usman Buzdar is removed from office.
