A meeting of parliamentary leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan, was held at the parliament house in Islamabad on Tuesday (June 25). Earlier the main stream opposition parties leaders including Asif Zardai and Shehbaz Sharif had proposed joint charter of economy to steer the country out from economic crisis.
The meeting, also attended by the allies of PTI, discussed overall political situation and the strategy to get the federal budget of next year passed by the National Assembly. A delegation of the government’s coalition partner, Balochistan National Party Mengal (BNP-M), yesterday called on PTI’s trouble-shooter Jahangir Tareen at his residence.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed positivity and assured that despite the ongoing economic tensions, Pakistan has set out on the path of recovery. Sources quoted his remarks, “The Federal government has carved out a new economic direction, and Pakistan is on its way to recovery after combating a bitter financial crisis.”
Earlier PPP Cocairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that “We will follow the collective decision of the opposition in the APC,” he said. When asked whether he stood with the narrative of Nawaz Sharif or ShahbazSharif, Zardari replied that he will follow the narrative of the combined opposition. Asked about reconciliation, Zardari said it is out of question now.
