LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to suspend four police officers for failing to respond in a timely manner to the harassment incident that occurred on Independence Day at Minar-e-Pakistan.
Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister, presided over a meeting on Friday to examine the investigation’s progress thus far.
According to sources, the decision to suspend DIG and SSP operations was made, and the Punjab administration had also decided to approach the federal government about it.
CM Buzdar stated on the occasion that the perpetrators will face heavy punishments and that the victim will receive justice.
After a video went viral on social media showing hundreds of men hitting a woman as she walked to the park with four of her friends to celebrate Independence Day, the Minar-e-Pakistan assault became known. The victim had been assaulted by 400 males, according to the authorities.
