The Punjab education department on Thursday (Feb 28) banned use of mobile phones for teachers of government as well as private schools as cell phone use creating problems for the teachers.
The district education authority sent the heads of all schools a letter in this regard and directed the , head teachers and principals to collect mobile phones from all teachers in the morning assembly and return them at the end of school hours.
Explaining the reason behind the ban, the letter read that the use of a mobile phone during class creates distractions.
