Despite Megxit, Queen Elizabeth still has much influence as the sole sovereign over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
In months, the British leader who stood by the Duke and Duchess in their decision to become financially independent earlier this year will be able to reverse the whole scenario!
“It is important to keep in mind that Harry and Meghan are a special event,” according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams.
“They are royals who are not employed, given the agreement that the Queen brokered at Sandringham is renewed before the end of next March.
While Harry and Meghan were able to undertake financial projects and bag commercial deals under the terms of the royal departure, the Megxit Arrangement was subject to a 12-month check.
The Royal Family and Sussexes committed to an initial 12-month review to ensure the agreement works for both parties,” a source at the time stated.
Meghan and Harry announced that a transition period of 12 months was in place.
They also expressed the same in an official statement that read, “While there is precedent for other titled members of the Royal Family to pursue jobs outside the institution, a 12-month examination limit has been set for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
The 12-month duration is a duration of relexation granted to leaving royals by the Queen in an effort to welcome them back if they regret their transfer.
In the meantime, the analysis would give royals an opportunity to check “what’s working and what’s not working.”
As per a palace source quoted by the Daily Telegraph in February, “The point of the 12-month analysis is that the family wants the best for them, and this is uncharted territory that everyone acknowledges.”
“Instead of doing something finite, this is a realistic dialogue in the family about what works and what does not work.”
