PML-N MNA, Rana Sanaullah Khan on January 1 demanded a judicial probe into drug case against him, He claimed that the charges were bogus and he was falsely implicated at the behest of the government as a political move.
Mr. Sanaullah Khan, a former law minister, while talking to media on his visit to Lahore High Court Bar Association thanked the legal community for standing by him in the difficult time he spent behind the bars. Khan questioned the competence of PM Imran Khan saying, he remained ignorant about his arrest by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
He also said all charges and witnesses including the allegedly recovered heroin belonged to the ANF. Mr. Sanaullah said incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had nothing to give the country except politics of victimization. He claimed that director general of the ANF also knew that the drug case was a fabricated one.
He also lashed out at State Minister Sheharyar Afridi for making false claims of having video evidence of the alleged heroin recovery. The opposition leader called for a fact finding commission in his case.
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday (Dec 24, 2019) granted bail to former Punjab law minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s senior leader, Rana Sanaullah today in a case related to drug possession.
Earlier, on Monday (Dec 23) LHC judge Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments of Advocate Zahid Hussain Bukhari, Ahsan Bhawan and Azam Nazir Tarrar on behalf of Rana Sanaullah and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Prosecutor Muhammad Irfan Malik.
