The 24 years old rapper and outspoken advocate for the LGBT community Kevin Fret has been shot dead in Puerto Rico. As per details, Fret was shot eight times while riding a motorbike in the street. An investigation is under way. Puerto Rico’s gay rapper and musician Kevin Fret succumbed to his injuries on Thursday (Jan 10).
Kevin was often described as Latin Trap’s first openly gay artist. He was quite vocal about his sexuality as well as LGBTQ rights. Fret’s manager Eduardo Rodriguez released an official statement in which he described Fret as “an artistic soul” and called for an end to the violence in Puerto Rico. “Kevin was an artistic soul, a big-hearted dreamer. His passion was music, and still had a lot to do,” the statement reads. “This violence must stop. There are no words that describe the feeling we have and the pain that causes us to know that a person with so many dreams has to go”. “We must all unite in these difficult times, and ask for much peace for our beloved Puerto Rico.”
