‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ fame, and religious scholar Junaid Jamshed’s 3rd death anniversary is being observed today (Dec 7). Junaid Jamshed was born in Karachi on September 03, 1964. He received education in engineering, and joined band ‘Vital Signs’ as leading singer.
‘Vital Signs’ released a national song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ on TV in 1987, in which they used western musical instruments. On December 7, 2016, PIA aircraft ATR-42 turboprop plane, operating flight PK-661, crashed near Havelian with 47 passengers and crew members on-board. Renowned Naat Khwan and former pop singer Junaid Jamshed along with his wife were also aboard the plane.
Junaid Jamshed Khan was a Pakistani recording artist, television personality, fashion designer, occasional actor, singer-songwriter, and preacher. After graduating with a degree in engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Jamshed briefly worked as a civilian contractor and engineer for the Pakistan Air Force before focusing on a musical career. In 2004, Jamshed officially renounced music and engineering after announcing to devote his life to Islam. In 2007, government of Pakistan awarded him Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
