The 15th death anniversary of prominent man of literature, Ashfaq Ahmad is being observed today (Sep 7). He was a writer, playwright and broadcaster from Pakistan. He wrote several books in Urdu.
Ashfaq Ahmad, wrote dozens of TV dramas and hosted famous programmes of Radio Pakistan “Talqeen Shah” which was broadcasted by Radio Pakistan for about 35 years. His famous PTV plays were “Munchaley ka Soda” “Aik Muhobaat Sao Fasaney” “Tota Kahani” “Hairat Kada” and “Afsaney”.
His works included novels, short stories and plays for television and radio of Pakistan. He was awarded President’s Pride of Performance and Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) awards for his services in the field of literature and broadcasting.
Ashfaq Ahmad died on September 7, 2004.
