The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has beard a loss of PKR 3.6 billion in March due to flight operation suspended to different countries to contain coronavirus outbreak.
As per details, approximately 1681 international and local flights were abandoned during the month of March, According to archive issued by CAA almost 212 flights were abandoned in the first 15 days of the last month.
The CAA has bearing a loss of PKR. 2723 million due to the suspention of flights, landing and other charges.
The federal government last day had announced to extend suspension of domestic flight operation till the April 11.
As per a spokesperson of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) told that, “The government has decided to extend the suspension of all types of domestic scheduled-non scheduled, chartered, private aircraft and general aviation operations till April 11.
However, the domestic flight operations to and from Islamabad International Airport for Gilgit and Skardu Airports would continue as normal operations, he added.
