Actress and presenter Sadia Imam revealed on ARY News show, Har Lamha Purjosh that she is the original writer of the songs Jia Dhadak Dhadak Jaaye and Zindagi Yeh Safar Mein Hai from Metro film.
Talking about the songs, she shared that she is the lyricist of two famous songs sung by the legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who rose to fame with the super-hit song of film Kalyug in India.
She further said:
“Rahat and I are good friends. When I wrote the lyrics, I didn’t recognize that it will turn out to be such a beautiful track after the composition.”
When asked why she was not given credits for the lyrics by the host Waseem Badami, she stated possibly because then they would have to pay her for it.
“Rahat told me that he couldn’t give me credits because he didn’t show it in India that the lyrics were written by a Pakistani,”
The actor said she didn’t have any problems with it because she gave him the lyrics willingly, so he could do whatever he wanted to.
However, she praised the legend for acknowledging on-air many times that the music lyrics had been written by her.
She even clarified that no longer blames Rahat for not giving her credit however at one point she raised her concerns.
““I believe, after I gave him the songs it was on Rahat’s conscience to credit the deserving, and if he had it would certainly be a great thing because the credits would be mine forever.”
