Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani on Wednesday, while talking to media has confirmed that Sarfraz Ahmad will be the Captain of Pakistan Cricket team in 2019 World cup.
“There is no controversy regarding the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed and every time it is created by the media itself”. The Chairman further said: “He is captain of Pakistan. He has no restriction and no terms. He is a great choice and this controversy around Sarfraz’s captaincy is created by the press.” When asked if Sarfraz will remain captain till World Cup 2019, the chairman responded, “Yes.” Mani also confirmed that final match of the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 will be held in Karachi.
Earlier in an interview, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee Mohsin Hasan Khan denied all rifts with Captain Sarfraz Ahmed. While responding to a question regarding captaincy in the 2019 ICC World he said that “I have great respect for Sarfraz and he has the same for me. At the end it is Mani’s decision that who should lead Pakistan in the World Cup. I and my committee will just give suggestions which will be 100 per cent on merit,” said Khan.
