Hundreds of Saudi passport control students receive special language training as part of efforts to improve communication with pilgrims traveling to the Kingdom.
The Saudi Arabian Passport Directorate currently has 500 apprentices in more than 10 languages.
Administration Director Brigadier General Saleh Bin Saad Al Merbaa told reporters about his training in the passport department.
“This program is not the first one, it started two years ago, but every year it develops, updates and defines more specific criteria to select the best candidates from the students and send them to training programs in order to contribute to the development of their skills,” he added.
Passport officers currently working in the hajj halls and terminals of King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Medina speak English, Spanish, Indonesian, Japanese, Persian, Urdu, Turkish and several others Languages.
