Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud called Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to reassure him of the Kingdom’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.
According to the statement from the Foreign Office said, “The Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HRH Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, made a telephone call to Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi today.”
Saudi Minister called amid growing resentment in Islamabad over Riyadh’s reluctance to support a meeting of foreign ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries for developing a joint stand on the annexation of India-held Jammu and Kashmir by India and its subsequent highhanded tactics.
Qureshi expressed gratitude to his Saudi counterpart for supporting Pakistan’s speech on the Kashmir issue. They also agreed to continue bilateral consultations on important regional issues, including occupied Kashmir.
