The Supreme Court of Pakistan overruling Sindh High Court’s judgement in the case on Thursday (August 22) issued directives to hold re-elections in PS-11 Larkana II.
A three-judge bench headed by acting Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Azmat Sheikh heard a case pertaining to polls rigging in a constituency where PPP’s Nida Khoro and GDA’s Muazzam Ali Khan contested general elections of 2018.
Justice Aijazul Hasan announced court’s verdict which approved plaintiff Nida Khoro’s plea and de-notified Muazzam Ali Khan who won the elections from PS-11 constituency in Larkana.
Ms Khoro, PPP’s candidate for Provincial Assembly, had filed a petition in the Apex Court against Election Tribunal’s decision. The tribunal back in January 2019 had rejected Nida Khoro’s application which sought action against the GDA leader.
