Despite all the scars it may have, Selena Gomez has always inspired people to love her body.
This month, the singer was featured on the cover of People magazine where she talked about loving herself.
In 2017, a songstress who suffered from autoimmune lupus disease had a kidney transplant.
Gomez revealed, opening up about the same thing, “At the beginning of my recovery, I was a little bit sad. You’re already going through something, and then there’s the added pressure of ‘I don’t look the same. I don’t know if I feel comfortable in my body.'”
“But I’m also around some of the best people, who see beyond the things we sometimes get wrapped up in. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that scar, and now I look at it in a much different way,” she added. “I feel like I’m more of a warrior.”
Earlier, in an Instagram post that had several stars lauding her for displaying incredible bravery, Gomez showed her scars proudly.
When I had my kidney transplant, I recall that it was really hard to reveal my scar at first. I didn’t want it to be in the videos, so I wore stuff to cover it up,’ Gomez wrote in her post.
I feel more confident now than ever about who I am and what I’ve been through and I’m proud of that. T – Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette with the message that all bodies are perfect,’ said the actress.
