Pakistan Peoples Party leader and Senator Rehman Malik will make a film on the plight of the people of the occupied Kashmir. In this regard, Rehman Malik said on the occasion of the launch of his book ‘Bleeding Kashmir’ that when he was writing a book on the bravery and struggle of Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir, he thought to make a feature film on this important subject.
Rahman Malik said that he was also writing the script for the film which has not been completed yet. The PPP leader said that his aim was to highlight the human rights abuses in Kashmir and the bravery of Kashmiris. Rehman Malik added that the cast for the film has not been finalized, these aspects will be looked after once the script is completed.
The background of the current situation in Kashmir:
On August 5, 2019, India removed the special status of Kashmir. The India annexed Kashmir to the federal.The Union Territories is divided into two parts under which the first part is Ladakh while the second is comprised of Jammu and Kashmir.
India passed both these bills with a large majority from the Lok Sabha, after which the President also approved the bills.
What is Article 370?
Article 370 of the Indian Constitution deals with special powers in occupied Kashmir, Article 370 allowed the state-occupied Kashmir to make its constitution, maintain it, keep its flag and defend itself in all matters except defense, foreign and communication.
The provisions of the Indian Constitution that apply to other states could not be imposed on the state-occupied Kashmir under this section. Under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, a citizen of any other state could not become a citizen of occupied Kashmir nor buy a place in the valley.
