Ramiz Raja, the former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, wants to see young pace bowler Shahnawaz Dahani bowl in the second Zimbabwe Test match.
In the second Test match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, Raja expects new players to be given opportunities.
In the first Test, Pakistan beat the hosts by an innings and 16 runs.
“It’s essential to offer new players a chance. I’m hoping to see [Shahnawaz] Dahani and one or two other improvements in batting and bowling in the second Test match,” Raja said on his YouTube channel, ‘Ramiz Speaks.’
He predicted that this will be a one-sided series, with Pakistan winning the next match in three or four days.
On April 21, eleven members of Pakistan’s Test squad arrived in Zimbabwe. Pakistan won the first of two Test matches against Zimbabwe, with the second Test set to begin on May 7.
Since September 2013, this is the first time the two teams have faced off in the pinnacle format of the game. This was Pakistan’s final Test match on Zimbabwean soil.
In the post-COVID-19 period, Pakistan is the first men’s international cricket team to visit Zimbabwe.
The Pakistani team has toured England and New Zealand since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as hosting Zimbabwe and South Africa.
In January 2020, Zimbabwe hosted its last international match, a two-Test series against Sri Lanka.
