After facing heavy criticism, debates and rumors about PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan, Mr. Shehbaz laid all rumors to rest after saying that he will soon return before the budget session for the fiscal year 2019-20 in the parliament on May 24.
While talking to a local news channel he said that “I can confirm that I will be back in Pakistan before the budget session. I have a few medical check-ups to attend to in the next few days and I will be returning to Pakistan after that. It could be much sooner than the budget session, subject to clearance from the doctors.”
After major reshuffling in PML-N and stepping down as Chairman Public Accounts Committee, news have started circulating that Shehbaz will not come back as may be an alleged deal has been finalized between government and PML-N. Earlier before Shehbaz’s confirmation, several PMLN leaders — including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Khawaja Asif — have confirmed that the opposition leader will be returning, it’s for the first time that Shehbaz himself has confirmed his return date, putting to rest all rumours. Shehbaz has been in London for over three weeks for his medical treatment.
