A complete shutdown is being observed in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) today (April 11) on the first phase of Indian elections, starts from today. The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gillani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for strike.
In India, first phase of general election Polling has begun to elect representatives in ninety-one constituencies. Nearly nine hundred million people are eligible to vote in this phase of Lok Sabha elections that will be held in twenty states.
The seven-phase polling to elect a new lower house of parliament will continue until 19th of next month whereas counting of the votes will be held on 23rd of next month. Voting began on Thursday (April 11) across 91 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 20 states and Union Territories as the first phase of the mega seven-phase electoral exercise kicked off.
