Sikh pilgrims, started returning to their countries after celebrating the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from all over the world were arrived in Pakistan, to celebrate the 549 birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. Gurpurab or Guru Nanak Jayanti is the celebration of the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak, who laid the foundation of Sikhism. This year, Gurpurab will be celebrated on November 23 in Nankana Sahib. Every year thousands of Sikh pilgrims visit Pakistan to visit their holy places.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday (Nov 28) laid the foundation of long-awaited Kartarpur Corridor to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims to visit their holy places. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Imran, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other leaders. Indian delegations ambassadors and Cricketer turned Indian politician Navjot Singh Sidhu arrived in Pakistan to attend the ceremony. While addressing the inauguration ceremony Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan and India must break free from the shackles of the past.
