Daniyal Bilour, grandson of martyred Bashir Ahmed Bilour and son of slain Haroon Bilour on Monday (April 8) has resigned as member of the Awami National Party (ANP). According to reports, Daniyal Bilour has sent his resignation to the ANP leadership. Daniyal Bilour was a candidate of provincial secretary information during the intra-party elections of late.
In a resignation letter sent to party leadership, Danyal claimed that the ANP “wished to have him withdraw his candidacy ─ a feat against the democratic process”. “Such behaviour on the party leadership’s part, in the face of my many sacrifices for the party, has led to the decision to resign,” the youth added. “He has not decided to join any party as yet,” it is reported.
It is pertinent to mention that Bilour’s father, Bashir Ahmed Bilour, too had lost his life in a 2012 suicide bomb explosion in the city’s Qissa Khwani bazar. Haroon was the eldest son of Bashir Bilour and was contesting elections from the same constituency as his late father.
