Sofia Vergara is still the highest-paid television actress, according to Forbes. This is the sixth consecutive year that the actress has been hailed as such.
Vergara banked $41.5 million before taxes and fees in the 12 months to June 1, some $15 million more than second-ranked [Kaley] Cuoco of CBS’s ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ who earned $26 million during the same period,” Forbes reported.
The bulk of Vergara’s earnings came from endorsement and licensing deals, such as those with Pepsi, Covergirl, Head & Shoulders, Avon (with which she has three perfumes), SharkNinja (for which she designed a coffee machine) and Rooms to Go (where she has a furniture line). In addition to these and her TV and movie roles, Vergara has also had speaking engagements.
As for her work on TV, Vergara is paid way less for her acting on “Modern Family” than second-placer Cuoco. But Vergara’s endorsements and other deals more than make up for the difference.
On Forbes’s list, Ellen Pompeo (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Mindy Kaling (“The Mindy Project”) are both in the third spot. Pompeo’s income comes exclusively from her work on “Grey’s Anatomy,” while Kaling’s earnings are derived from her work in film, TV, and commercial.
