The 392-kilometre Sukkur-Multan motorway has prime importance for the economic and social development in Pakistan. Hua Chunying Chinese foreign ministry’s spokesperson said.
At a briefing in Beijing, the spokesman stressed that the newly built Sukkur-Multan highway would be very important for Pakistan’s economic and social development and the biggest transport infrastructure project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and one of the early harvest projects.
Chunying said that the M5 motorway project is part of the Peshawar-Karachi Motorway and it was completed two weeks ahead of contract due date.
She added that China wanted to work with Pakistan to continue advancing in the construction of the CPEC, enriching its essence, achieving high-quality development and providing greater benefits to our countries and the people of the neighboring region.
