At least seventy civilians have been killed and dozens of more sustained severe injuries in US-led airstrike at camp for displaced people of Deir al-Zour. According to reports death toll is expected to rise as mostly injured are in critical condition.
According to State television, the airstrikes have intensified recently on Islamic State held areas in the eastern Euphrates river region. Local sources told state’s news agency that the aerial attacks targeted the outskirts of al-Baghouz town, leaving 70 people dead and injured as a result.
The sources added that the airstrikes hit a makeshift camp, which internally displaced people had set up in the area after fleeing fierce exchanges of gunfire between the US-led coalition and the last remnants of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.
