British police search for robbers who after tying up a driver and security guard during a truck heist in central England, made off with 5 million pounds ($6.6 million) worth of Apple items from iPhones to watches.
Last Tuesday evening, the robbers attacked the truck on a slip road to the M1 motorway in Northamptonshire, tying up the driver and guard they had left behind before moving the vehicle to a nearby industrial estate.
They moved the trailer to another truck and drove it approximately nine miles to the town of Lutterworth, where 48 pallets of Apple products were loaded into a third vehicle, including watches, iPhone 11s, Air Pods, iPads and chargers.
No arms were used in the heist, and while minor injuries were suffered by the driver and security guard while being tied up, they were not injured.
However, this was a very traumatic ordeal for both of them, as you can imagine,” a police spokeswoman said.
The police, who did not reveal how many suspects were involved, said they wanted to talk to anyone who in unusual circumstances may have been offered any Apple products for sale, or who knows of anyone who sells such products at low-cost prices.”
