Despite Supreme Court’s warning, former president Pervez Musharraf will not appear before the trial court in a high treason case on Thursday (April 2).
In his request to postpone the hearing until the end of Ramazan, his application also states that in light of the life-threatening medical condition of the petitioner, supported by medical certificate and photographic evidences, his absence was caused by factors beyond human control.
Earlier the Supreme Court’s three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa during the hearing of high treason case against former president Pervaiz Musharraf, warned that if Musharraf failed to appear before court on May 2, he will lose his right to defend and the special court is empowered to proceed against him even in his absence under Section 9 of the High Treason (Punishment) Act, 1973, the SC had ruled.
