Pakistan claims that U.S. President Donald Trump has written a letter to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to ask for help with Afghan peace talks. Prime Minister Imran, in a meeting with TV anchors and reporters in the federal capital said that he received a letter seeks for assistance in Afghan peace process.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry confirmed Trump’s call for support. “President Trump has written a letter. He has asked for Pakistan’s cooperation to bring the Taliban into talks,” Chaudhry told Reuters.
Earlier US President Donald Trump during an interview, badly criticized Pakistan and said that Pakistan had helped Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden hide near the garrison city. “You know, living — think of this — living in Pakistan, beautifully in Pakistan in what I guess they considered a nice mansion, I don’t know, I’ve seen nicer. But living in Pakistan right next to the military academy, everybody in Pakistan knew he was there,” Trump said, referring to bin Laden and his former compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
