On Friday (today), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to address a joint session of Parliament together with Prime Minister Imran Khan, called by President Dr. Arif Alvi in Islamabad at 11 am today.
Federal Secretaries, Chief Ministers, Governors, President, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Speaker Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan will also be invited to the meeting. The Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Chief Election Commissioner, and the Governor’s Bank were also invited to the joint meeting.
In addition to his speech before the joint sitting of Parliament today, Erdogan will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan for discussions on bilateral, regional and global issues.
Both President will chair the sixth meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which directs the bilateral relationship and are also willing to speak at a meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum.
President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for a two-day trip along with a high-level delegation of business leaders. Prime Minister Imran Khan personally received Tayyip Erdogan at the Noor Khan Airbase.
Turkish President held talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Dr. Arif Alvi. President Alvi expressed satisfaction with the level of multifaceted engagement between Pakistan and Turkey. President Alvi informed Erdogan about “worsening human rights situation” in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir highlighting Pakistan’s efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
