A cameraman of Samaa TV, Wajid Ali, on Monday (Dec 17) sustained injuries when security guard of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif attacked on cameraman and beaten him badly. The incident took place when Nawaz Sharif was leaving the parliament house after attending meeting.
As per reports, The cameraman sustained injuries on his lip, where he was administered three stitches, and on his head. Journalists started protest against the incident and held sit-in outside the parliament house and demanded the arrest of the security guard involved in the unpleasant incident.
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif took notice of the incident and said “I was painful and sad to know of the incident,” Nawaz said. “As soon as, I came to know of it I directed party leaders to take the cameraman to hospital and make arrangements for his treatment.” “I will not tolerate any individual in my staff who is found guilty of mistreating a person in such a way,” the former premier said. “We will ensure that this sort of regrettable, condemnable incident never happens in future.”
