For this, they will be attended away with the seven days duration where into which they will be ordered to cease their operations across Sindh. This decision was all followed up at the time where a girl faced harassment from the driver during her trip in one of the ride-hailing services at Shahra-e-Faisal in Karachi.
Why Uber Careem Banned Services Petition has been signed in Sindh?
Last year, there were so many of the ride-hailing companies who were asked to obtain permits under Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1965. but then on terms of according to one of the officials as the only a memorandum of understanding was signed as to be between the government and the companies after that was nothing so happened.
This is not yet the first time that Uber and Careem were given orders to cease their operations. Earlier on such terms the provincial government claimed that Careem and Uber were not at all abiding by the laws, and the cars were not at all registered with any regulatory body.
Operation of Uber Careem Services Banned in Sindh:
The newly-appointed transport minister, Owais Qadir Shah has on the whole granted a week’s time to ride-hailing services known as Uber and Careem as to regularise their operations. This is all the more failing which the services would be banned in the place of province. The government has warned that the ride-hailing services would no longer be permitted to hence on the whole operate in the province if they failed to register with the medium of the government and obtain route permits for their vehicles. They addressed the media that they will take action and shut these services if permission is not on the whole obtained from the provincial government under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1965.
Why is it important to ban Uber Careem services?
He even added that the transport officials to convey his directives to the companies on the terms of adding that they were also considering shutting down the online motorcycle taxi services that is being offered by Bykea and Careem. As in vie with any untoward incident, the Sindh government will be held responsible so it is important to take with some concrete measures to close this motorcycle service.
