After Pakistani business tycoon, Malik Riaz’s settlement with National Crime Agency, Now United Kingdom’s NCA has transferred Rs28 billion to Pakistan.
Speaking to a local news channel’s correspondent, the NCA spokesperson confirmed the news but refused to give any further information about where the money had been deposited.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said that the government had requested the state bank for the Rs28 billion so that it could spend the money on the poor. “The government has signed a document due to which it cannot reveal any more details about this matter,” he said.
Earlier, National Crime Agency, UK, has agreed on a settlement of £190 million with a leading Pakistani business tycoon. Money will be transferred to Govt. of Pakistan. This has huge implications for Pakistani politics. Malik Riaz would pay the amount for his disputed properties that include a UK property, One Hyde Park Place, London, W2 2LH, valued at approximately £50 million and funds in the frozen accounts.
