After the continuous refusal of former Finance Minister, Asad Umar to take charge of Petroleum ministry, now Federal Cabinet division on Monday (May 6) has allocated the additional portfolio of Petroleum ministry to Federal Minister for Power Division, ‘Omar Ayub’, said an official notification.
“In terms of Rule 3(4) of the Rules of Business, 1973, the prime minister has been pleased to allocate, with immediate effect, the additional portfolio of Petroleum Division to Omar Ayub Khan, Federal Minister for Power Division,” the notification stated.
Earlier after the sacking of Ghulam Sarwar Khan as Petroleum Minister, the premier appointed task Force on Energy Chairman Nadeem Babar as Special Assistant on the Petroleum Division.
