India’s failed air strike attempt has stirred has created very sensitive situation in the region. International authorities are condemning the Indian aggression as United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday (Feb 26) appealed to Pakistan and India for “maximum restraint” in the wake of the airspace violations by Indian warplanes along the Line of Control (LoC).
Stephane Dujarric, the spokesperson, of UN Chief Antonio Guterres said “I spoke to the Secretary-General not long ago, before he boarded his plane. He is obviously following the situation very closely and reiterates his urgent appeal to both the government of India and the government of Pakistan to exercise maximum restraint to ensure that the situation does not further deteriorate”.
While responding a question regarding causalities Dujarric said, “We don’t have any information on possible casualties. We have seen different press reports.”
Pakistan Air force has effectively responded the ceasefire violation of Indian Air Force air jets. As per details issued by Major General Asif Ghafoor, the director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage”.
