Exciting Researcher position is available focusing on “Whey proteins and bioactive peptides; antidiabetic and anti-cancerous properties” as part of food bioactives and nutraceuticals research program. As an enthusiastic and innovative researcher, you will join the Food, Nutrition and Health Department and perform research activities in a funded project being carried out in collaboration with multidisciplinary team within UAEU and abroad (Canada and Malaysia). You will explore anti-diabetic and anticancer potential of whey proteins, and the whey bioactive peptides derived from camel and cow whey. In-vitro and in-vivo approach will be used to test the proteins and bioactive peptides. Moreover, development of functional and nutraceutical-based products will be carried out and tested for potential bioactive properties and consumers acceptability. Key laboratory techniques required are likely to be spectrophotometry, HPLC, working with cancer cell lines, protein/peptide fractionation, Western blotting, anticancer assays, and animal studies will be a plus. The project would suit a candidate with experience in biochemistry, food science, pharmacology, cancer biology with strong lab skills and preferably experience in a cell culture lab technique. Applicant must have a Master’s or PhD degree in Food Science/ biochemistry/Nutrition or related discipline from a recognized higher education institution.
