The fourth death anniversary of television actor, playwright and comedian Kamal Ahmed Rizvi is being observed today (Dec 17).
Rizvi was born in Bihar, India, and later migrated to Karachi before moving to Lahore. The actor began his career at Radio Pakistan, where he got a chance to work in Julius Caesar for BBC Urdu. This opened numerous doors for Rizvi allowing him opportunities in theatre and television. Kamal Rizvi wrote and starred in the comedy series Alif Noon, and won a Pride of Performance Award in 1989.
Kamal Ahmed Rizvi, the man behind one of the most celebrated sitcoms of the country Alif Noon died of a heart attack after a prolonged illness in Karachi on 17 Dec 2015 at the age of 85.
