The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday (July 30) extended the pre-arrest bail of Main accused in former accountability judge Arshad Malik’s video scandal, Nasir Janjua, till tomorrow (July 31). IHC’s acting chief justice Aamer Farooq announced the reserved judgement. The FIA had opposed the bail plea of Janjua.
Earlier, the FIA cybercrime wing has issued a notice which stated that if Nasir Janjua failed to appear before the authority on July 29 then it is free to think that he has nothing to offer in his defense. The Islamabad High Court had granted interim bail to Nasir Janjua.
Earlier, Supreme Court of Pakistan on (July 23) has directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit an inquiry report into leaked judge’s video scandal case within a period of three weeks. A three-judge Apex Court bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa took up the video scandal case that alleges Arshad Malik of ruling against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif under “external pressure”.
