Shehzad Akbar, Special Adviser to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Tuesday (July 15) revealed the details of ‘Benami (Unnamed) Assets’ of the former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Talking to media in a joint press conference with federal ministers Ali Zaidi and Hammad Azhar Shehzad Akbar said that Asif Zardari owns 32 unnamed companies which include sugar mills and cement factories and if he will be failed to prove the trail of the companies the government will take those into its custody within the next 60 days.
He said that Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Suleman Shahbaz and son-in-law of the former Punjab chief minister Ali Imran are all declared as proclaimed offenders and we will file a case for handing them over to Pakistan. Shahzad Akbar said that if these personalities will not return to the country the government will seize their assets.
Federal Minister Ali Zaidi said that the countrymen will be briefed over unnamed assets and graft cases on a daily basis. He also slammed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Shahbaz Sharif for alleged embezzlement in foreign aid which was dispatched to facilitate the earthquake victims.
