Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to meet Afghan Taliban after returning from the United States visit. This he said while addressing the American Thinktank in Washington DC. “I will meet the Taliban and I will try my best to get them to talk to the Afghan government,” Khan said during an appearance at the US Institute of Peace in Washington.
The United States and the Taliban are getting closer to a deal that is expected to be centered on a US pledge to withdraw troops in exchange for a Taliban promise not to let Afghanistan be used as a base for terrorism, officials say.
He said Pakistan desires for peace and stability in the region and good ties with its neighbours. Commenting on the Iran conflict, he advised refraining from military solution of the conflict, Pakistan is ready to play its role in the matter.
