People across the world are observing world water day today (March 22) with the theme “No One Left Behind.” The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. World Water Day is celebrated around the world with a variety of events. These can be educational, theatrical, musical or lobbying in nature.
Today, billions of people are still living without safe water, which means ‘safely managed drinking water service’: water that is accessible on the premises, available when needed, and free from contamination. Their households, schools, workplaces, farms and factories struggling to survive and thrive.
Water experts have predict the threatening challenges of increasing water scarcity globally in future and urged upon communities, residing in rural and urban areas, to use water sustainably to conserve it for coming generations.
