Ali Jahangir Tareen, the owner of Multan Sultans, has addressed a fan’s request to include Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal in the upcoming PSL 10 draft.
Initially, the Pakistan Cricket Board had planned for Gwadar to host the PSL 10-player draft. However, due to logistical challenges, the event has been rescheduled. The draft will now take place on January 13 at Huzoori Bagh, Lahore Fort.
As the draft approaches, fans have been reaching out to team owners, urging them to select players they believe could strengthen their teams. One fan specifically asked Tareen to include Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal to help revive their careers.
In a post on social media, the fan requested Tareen to not only pick either of the two players but also change the team’s jersey design and color.
“Ali Bhai, please change the design and especially the color of the Multan Sultans' jersey, and somehow create space to pick either @Umar96Akmal or @iamAhmadshahzad to help them save their careers. Please, a fan request,” the fan wrote.
Tareen politely declined both requests, responding, “Sorry bro, No to both requests”.
For the PSL 10 draft, Multan Sultans are set to make the fifth pick in the platinum category.
It’s important to mention that Islamabad United is the reigning champions of the PSL, having won the 2024 edition. They have won the league three times, while Lahore Qalandars have won twice. Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans have each claimed the title once throughout the league’s nine seasons.
