Nora Fatehi Talks About Her Commitment to Bollywood and Acting

Nora Fatehi is making strides in her international indie music career while continuing her acting journey. Recently, she collaborated with American artist Jason Derulo on a new single, showcasing her versatility. Despite her growing music career, Nora has no plans to step away from acting. She humorously adds, “I have no personal life! If you think I’m giving up my space for anyone else, you’re funny. I’ll be everywhere movies and music both.”

Nora, who has appeared in numerous music videos, is determined to shape a global music presence. With her latest release, Snake, where she worked as a producer, songwriter, and singer, she reflects on her multicultural identity: “I have three influences within me I was born in Canada, my roots are in Morocco, and India has shaped who I am today. I aim to combine these three worlds in my music and artistry.”

When asked about her experience working with Derulo, she shared that they hadn’t met in person before the collaboration. “I’m too shy to reach out to anyone, so I recorded the song on my own. The first time we spoke was on FaceTime when he asked me for a Hindi word for ‘baby’ he ended up using ‘jannu’ in the song. I was nervous and stressed the whole time.”

Nora had a clear vision for the track, knowing she needed a dancer for the project. When her producer, Tommy Brown, suggested Jason Derulo, she felt confident it would be a perfect match. “I knew Jason would be great for the project, especially with his experience in both music and dance. I wanted a Bollywood-style collaboration, with a hero and heroine vibe. Jason’s international experience, including his work with ‘Jalebi Baby’ and his popularity in the UAE, made him an ideal fit.”

On a different note, Fatehi recently had to evacuate her Los Angeles home due to nearby wildfires, which have affected several celebrities. She posted on Instagram about the experience, saying, “I’ve never seen anything like this. We got an evacuation order just five minutes ago. I packed quickly and am heading to the airport, hoping I can still catch my flight.”
